Summary:

The Senior Multiplayer Designer is responsible for driving the design and creation of engaging and innovative gameplay experiences. Working with every tool at hand and driving direction with interdisciplinary teams, the Senior Multiplayer Designer will apply critical thinking and imagination to engineer the game’s fun. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding expectations and meeting milestone deliverables. Leadership, communication, and team management will be the keys to success in this role, as well as a passion for making truly memorable games.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Design Director to understand project goals, priorities, and vision

  • Drive project goals, priorities, and vision across interdisciplinary teams to deliver high features from start to finish

  • Write & maintain design documentation and processes for owned features & work

  • Establish & maintain day-to-day workflows and processes for owned feature teams

  • Frequently manage JIRA items for owned features & work

  • Help to establish, drive, & maintain consistent metrics and standards across the design team to ensure high-quality results

  • Support & mentor members of the design team with feedback, engine assistance, and professional growth 

  • Run & participate in daily playtests to collect feedback and create action items for owned feature teams

  • Identify and fix Design bugs

  • Collaborate with production team to maintain schedule and priorities of the design teams deliverables and bug fixes

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years game design experience

  • Designed, developed, and shipped 2+ titles

  • Experience developing core mechanics for a variety of experiences, including 1st or 3rd person shooters

  • Experience developing for both casual and competitive audiences

  • Excellent communicator who can shepard direction well and is willing to learn and teach others

  • The ability to sell, present, and talk through your design thinking, game mechanics and overall design goals to all levels of management

  • Passion for playing and making console and PC games

  • Maintain rich, thoughtful, candid communication, down and up in order to ensure the very best game is built

  • Able to develop and champion a strong design vision for a game system from concept to completion

  • Thorough knowledge of combat mechanics and design standards

  • Strong ability to analyze and adapt designs based on feedback and data

  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and effective time-management skills

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, technologies, and development methodologies

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience developing gameplay design for a new IP

  • Experience designing for a Free-to-Play game

  • Experience in multiple design specializations (Character/Combat, Game Mode, and Level Design)
